The new and improved Wunder Garten (1st & L Streets, NE) announced the second annual Oktoberfest 2016, a weekend of festivities including traditional food, games, beer and events.

Beginning Thursday, September 22 and continuing through the weekend, Wunder Garten will be the spot for anyone seeking the energy of a true German Oktoberfest. Guests will nosh on German food from Café Berlin and enjoy live bands and DJs, all while swigging the best Oktoberfest beers.

Wunder Garten kicks off Thursday at 5 PM with a traditional event, the “tapping of the first keg.” As in Munich, a local leader will do the honors, in this case NoMa BID President, Robin-Eve Jasper.

Oktoberfest wouldn’t be complete without a Bavarian brunch which includes a set menu of sausages, pretzel, mustard and a beer, to be served Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 3pm (advance purchase required, see below) followed by more music, games and food on Saturday until midnight and Sunday until 9 PM.

On Sunday, September 25 Wunder Garten will host a pig roast as the grand finale.

All events are free except brunch, which requires tickets.

About Wunder Garten:
Inspired by the Bavarian beer gardens made famous in Germany, Wunder Garten began in 2015 as a mobile beer garden, taking advantage of the unused lots throughout NoMa, giving the severely underserved residents of the neighborhood, a fun place to gather with family and friends for ice cold beers and sunshine. In 2016 Wunder Garten moved to a more permanent location after signing a multi-year lease in the same neighborhood.
