GW Men's Basketball Agrees to Series with Temple

From our friends at GW Athletics...

Colonials Will Visit the Owls on December 7, 2016; Temple to Return the Game in 2017

The George Washington men’s basketball further bolstered its non-conference schedule by agreeing to a two-game series with Temple that will see the Colonials visit the Owls this season.

GW and Temple will renew their rivalry, which dates back to 1916, on December 7, 2016 when the Colonials travel to Philadelphia. The Owls will play a return game in Washington, the following season.

The agreement adds to an already high-profile non-conference slate which features a home game against Penn State (November 26) the BB&T Classic vs. Florida State (December 4) and a trip to Miami (December 22) along with two games against Georgia and either Kansas or UAB, as part of the CBE Classic in Kansas City on November 21-22.

GW and Temple last met on March 22, 2015, when the No. 1 seeded Owls came away with a 90-77 win at home in the second round of the NIT. The upcoming meeting will be the 70th in series history, with 52 of those taking place from 1982-2013 when the schools were Atlantic 10 Conference rivals.
