Olympic Day DC Photo Recap

NRH Punishers Wheelchair Basketball

Rio's almost 5,000 miles away; but Events DC managed to deliver (a taste of) the Olympic experience to the nation's capital earlier today at CityCenterDC. Olympic Day (created in 1948) is celebrated by over 160 countries across the world, and celebrates Olympic values such as fair play and sportsmanship. That was certainly on display this morning (and afternoon) with a wide range of athletic demonstrations, including boxing, fencing, pole vaulting (very cool) and even weightlifting. Toss in a slew of giveaways, courtesy of the aforementioned Events DC, a three-time U.S. Olympian (Willie Banks) and loads of sunshine... and you couldn't ask for a better end to the work week.
