42nd Annual MD Polish Festival This July to Feature "Polka King" & Multi-Grammy Winner Jimmy Sturr

42nd Annual Maryland Polish Festival Comes to Timonium Fairgrounds This Summer

Festival brings in nationally acclaimed “Polka King” Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra for Saturday performance

From homemade pierogi to traditional dancing and from polka music to learning more about Polish cultural heritage, there is something for everyone at the 42nd annual Maryland Polish Festival set to take place on Saturday, July 16 from 11 AM - 10 pm and Sunday, July 17 from 11 AM - 7 PM at the Exhibition Hall at Timonium Fairgrounds (2200 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093.) Presented by the Polish Community Association of Maryland (PCAM) the festival will be $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for Seniors (60+) and military (active/non-active) and children under 12, accompanied by a paying adult, will be free. The Festival will feature entertainment and live music throughout the day (including a performance by nationally acclaimed “polka king” Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra) authentic Polish food and drinks, storytelling, a children’s area, a trivia contest, Polish arts & crafts and much more. This year, the festival will present nationally acclaimed musician and “polka king” Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra. With over 177 recordings, Jimmy and his orchestra are on the Top Ten List for the ALL-time Grammy Awards, with seventeen awards and more consecutive Grammy nominations than anyone is the history of music. Broadcast Media, Inc. (BMI) has awarded Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra their most valued award, the “Commendation of Excellence,” the only one ever awarded in the Polka field. He has recorded with such superstars as Willie Nelson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels and Brenda Lee to name a few. Currently, fans can listen to Jimmy’s nationally syndicated radio show on Sirius XM rural/radio Channel 80 or find one of the many venues where he appears. Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra will be playing at the MD Polish Festival on Saturday from 3-7 PM.

About 2,000 people are expected to attend the festival that supports the Polish Community Association, their cultural activities (such as the neighborhood East Baltimore Christmas Caroling) and other Polish organizations in the area. Entertainment will be provided by Lenny Adams Band, the Krakawiaki Dancers and the Ojczyzna Folk dancers as well as local bands.
