From our friends at Bar Dupont...

Personal Instruction in the Creation of Julep Drinks at Bar Dupont

Bar Dupont will shake things up this spring and summer, with its second annual Cocktail Class Series, wherein guests can learn to create seasonal, fresh cocktails just in time for warm weather entertaining. Hosted by General Manager and mixologist Chris McNeal, participants in each intimate classroom session will learn how to craft drinks that are fun and trendy, with the guidance and personal instruction from a seasoned industry veteran. Chris and his team will also share his knowledge of the art of mixology and ingredient sourcing, with anecdotes and stories perfect for showing off to friends - the key detail to hosting a successful cocktail party.

The theme for the June installment of “Shaken Nights” will focus on The Triple Crown and festive hats are encouraged. As the race to the Belmont Stakes heats up, students will learn about classic bourbon-based cocktails.

The Triple Crown edition of “Shaken Nights” Cocktail Class Series will be Thursday, June 2nd at 6:00 PM at Bar Dupont, 1500 New Hampshire Avenue, NW. The class is $48.47 per person including taxes, fees, and gratuity.

Coming up in the “Shaken Nights” Cocktail Class Series:

July will be a patriotic celebration of Independence Day with champagne-inspired cocktails, using American sparkling wines as bases for refreshing summer punches and mixed drinks.

The Endless Summer August class will focus the class on drinks built with shrubs, tinctures and fall fruits.

Any seasoned Washingtonian knows September means the start of gala season, and at Bar Dupont, the theme for the month will be large formats cocktails - perfect for sharing, guests will learn how to create the perfect sparkling punch and traditional gin punch with festive garnishes!

In October Bar Dupont becomes its own haunted house, featuring the spirits that make ‘spooky, dark cocktails’ like rich, dark beers, peaty Scotches, and more. Leading up to Halloween, guests will get all the spirits necessary for a killer costume party.

November concludes the annual series with a focus on holiday cocktails perfect for family dinners, Friendsgiving celebrations, and religious holidays. Whether hosting a party at home or with coworkers at the office, the final class will surely set guests apart.

Tickets are available for individual classes, or discounted as a complete series. Chris will keep the classes small to ensure everyone gets individualized attention and the space to practice and perfect their craft.
