Park Hyatt Washington Announces the New American Classic Inaugural Package

This one-of-kind package explores George Washington’s Mount Vernon, followed by a presidential-inspired feast at Blue Duck Tavern for the 45th Inauguration in the nation’s capital

Park Hyatt Washington invites guests to celebrate great American history - and history in the making - for the 45th Presidential Inauguration with the New American Classic package. In addition to a four-night stay in the hotel’s Presidential Suite, January 19-23, the package also features a VIP tour of historic Mount Vernon, home to America’s first president, George Washington, a presidential feast for 12 in Blue Duck Tavern, along with unique guestroom amenities.

The guest that books this package will enjoy a chauffeured round-trip airport transfer and a four-night stay in Park Hyatt Washington, D.C.’s penthouse level, 2,006-square-foot corner Presidential Suite with daily breakfast for two in award-winning Blue Duck Tavern, or at their leisure in the suite. The package also includes chauffeur service to whisk them, with two additional guests, to Mount Vernon, George and Martha Washington's plantation and 21-room mansion, situated on the banks of Potomac River for a privately guided two-hour tour. Guests will gain exclusive access to parts of the mansion generally off-limits to visitors and hear informative commentary about the historical sites with a rare behind-the-scenes look at George Washington’s Mount Vernon not available to the general public.

Presidential-inspired room amenities for the package also include a luxurious, keepsake 100% wool, flag blanket, and a copy of Dining with the Washingtons: Historic Recipes, Entertaining, and Hospitality from Mount Vernon, as well as a limited edition bottle of George Washington’s Straight Rye Whiskey, which is made according to his original recipe, distilled then aged two years in oak barrels, and sold exclusively through Mount Vernon.

George Washington was once the largest whiskey producer in America, producing nearly 11,000 gallons in 1799. Today, Mount Vernon continues the tradition of producing whiskey as well as other small batch distilled spirits at their historic reconstructed Distillery & Gristmill site.

To complete the experience, guests of the presidential suite will be treated to an exclusive Founding Fathers chef’s table for 12 with their friends and family. This one-of-a-kind menu will be prepared by Executive Chef Franck Loquet and Blue Duck Tavern’s Chef de Cuisine Brad Deboy, and will feature the favorite food and beverages of past presidents, including some recipes from the Washington’s collection. The celebratory meal will also be inspired by influential founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson, said to be a lover of fine food and drinks, Abraham Lincoln, said to favor chicken Fricassee with herbed biscuits and various cheeses and crackers, as well as George Washington, a great lover of ice cream who often served ice cream at presidential Thursday night dinners. Cost of this exclusive package is $45,000 excluding taxes and gratuity.

In celebration of the Presidential Inauguration and the opportunity to celebrate great American history for present and future generations, Park Hyatt Washington will contribute a portion of the proceeds to Mount Vernon as well as make a minimum contribution of $500 to the Trust for the National Mall. The Trust for the National Mall is the official non-profit partner of the National Park Service is dedicated to restoring, improving, and preserving the National Mall: home to the history, heroes, and hope of America.
