Annual Delaplane Strawberry Festival Is Held May 28-29, 2016

Weekend Highlights New Bands, Entertainment, and a 5K Run

The 23rd annual Delaplane Strawberry Festival takes place this Memorial Day Weekend. In addition to having more than 6,000 pints of strawberries for sale (in flats, pints, sundaes and shortcake) the festival features live music, children’s activities and games, raffles, food vendors, hayrides, pony rides (additional fee) a 4H petting farm, a 5K trail run/walk (on Sunday, May 29 and with an additional fee) crafters and much more.

When: Saturday, May 28 - Sunday, May 29, 2016, 10 AM to 5 PM. Rain or shine.

Tickets: $25 per car at the gate. All activities included except for pony rides and participation in Sunday’s 5K walk/run. More information at www.delaplanestrawberryfestival.com. Entrance to the festival also gives visitors access to Sky Meadows State Park and the Appalachian Trail. (The Lost Mountain and Turner Pond access to Sky Meadows will be open for normal park use and fees. Go to www.virginiastateparks.gov for more information.)
