WHYPassover is an important, biblical derived Jewish festival. It commemorates the story of Exodus as described in the Hebrew Bible in which the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt. It is the time of year when loved ones gather around the table to join in a Seder meal full of rituals, prayers and delicious dishes. This special holiday lasts for one week as a way to honor one’s ancestors, which is done by adhering to dietary restrictions as a sign of sacrifice.
