Smithsonian Will Host Its 2015 Holiday Festival December 5-6

The 2015 Festival Is the Smithsonian's Largest Holiday Festival to Date with 10 Participating Museums!

To celebrate the season, the Smithsonian Holiday Festival will feature family-friendly concerts, book signings, trunk shows, festive food, activities for kids and so much more

The Smithsonian will host its 2015 holiday festival, Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6, at participating museums including: the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Air and Space, National Museum of Natural History, Freer Gallery of Art and Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, National Museum of African American Art, National Postal Museum, and The Smithsonian Castle. For the first time, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden will host the holiday festival this year.

The festival will feature concerts by the famous Max Impact Band, the premier rock band of the U.S Air Force, and The Singing Sergeants, the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force. The holiday festival also offers Mars Chocolate demonstrations, a Star Wars C-3PO costume exhibit, the world’s largest LEGO American Flag exhibit, family holiday photo opportunities, free film screenings, trunk shows featuring apparel, jewelry and art, book signings, festive food and hours of additional family-friendly entertainment.


There will be free gift-wrapping at the National Air and Space Museum and National Museum of American History. For only $1, festival-goers can ride the DC Circulator for access to the holiday festival museum locations.
