Hoyas Comeback Bid Falls Short in 38-31 Senior Day Loss to No. 16 Fordham

Georgetown football recognizes 16 seniors during pre-game ceremony

The Georgetown University football team (4-6, 2-3 Patriot League) fell short in its comeback bid against No. 16 Fordham (9-2, 5-1 Patriot League), falling to the Rams, 38-31, on Senior Day at Cooper Field.

The Hoyas trailed, 28-7, midway through the second quarter, before senior quarterback Kyle Nolan (Branford, Conn./Branford/Choate Rosemary Hall) led two scoring drives before halftime. Nolan rushed for a 12-yard touchdown and completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Harrison Glor (Boston, Mass./Belmont Hill/Deerfield) to bring GU within a touchdown at halftime. The Hoyas kept momentum in the second half, tying the game at 31 with 5:17 left in the fourth quarter, but a late Fordham touchdown, followed by an interception in the end zone with 27 seconds remaining sealed the Hoyas' fate.

Glor finished with a career-high seven catches for 97 yards and a touchdown, while Nolan completed 28-of-46 pass attempts for 328 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Senior defensive end Hunter Kiselick (Nutley, N.J./Bergen Catholic) had four tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss, 1.0 sack, an interception and a pass breakup, while senior linebacker Matt Satchell (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) finished with nine tackles to eclipse 200 career tackles in their final game at Cooper Field.

The Rams went to work scoring the next four touchdowns to quiet the crowd. Fordham's quarterback Kevin Anderson connected with Jonathan Lumley on two touchdown passes during a 28-0 run. Sophomore running back Chase Edmonds had a five yard touchdown run, his nation-leading 20th of the season.

The Blue & Gray pulled within one touchdown, as Nolan drove GU into Fordham territory within the last minute in the first half. He found senior wide receiver Harrison Glor (Boston, Mass./Belmont Hill/Deerfield) for a 17-yard touchdown with seven seconds left in the second quarter, making the score 28-21.

Four plays later, Nolan found freshman wide receiver Brandon Williams (Germantown, Md./Northwest) for a 26-yard touchdown to make the score, 31-28.
