Alexandria Restaurant Partners Will Open at the Alexandria Marina in 2016

From our friends at Alexandria Restaurant Partners...

David Clapp and Dave Nicholas of Alexandria Restaurant Partners (ARP) are pleased to announce that ARP has bought a majority stake in The Waterfront Market & Café, located at 7 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314, from founder Jody Manor. The 3,900 square-foot building will close this winter so it can undergo a transformation with a kitchen expansion, and the addition of a full service bar.

ARP Managing Partner David Clapp states, “ARP is excited to partner with Jody Manor on this project. Jody was an early believer in the potential of the waterfront to be a vibrant gathering place. Now with more public space coming soon, the potential is even greater. We look forward to creating another unique, fun concept for locals and tourists to enjoy the waterfront on King Street.”

This, yet to be named, casual iconic waterfront restaurant and bar, will have an anticipated May 2016 opening date. The properties are literally steps away from the historic Torpedo Factory Art Center, Alexandria Waterfront Parks and the City Marina, where pleasure boat owners can dock to visit both establishments.

“This is a work in progress and the name has not been chosen, but we can confirm we plan to create a seafood-focused dining destination, with a raw bar element that will serve lunch, dinner and weekend brunch,” explains Clapp.  “We also see a good opportunity with our new menu and bar area to develop a great drinks menu.  Craft beers and seafood are a natural pairing and we’ll celebrate our waterfront heritage with a collection of signature rum-based cocktails and frozen drinks.”

Restaurants in the ARP collection include The Majestic Cafe and Virtue Feed & Grain in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia; Dantanna’s Surf, Turf & Turf and Dantanna’s Downtown in Atlanta, Georgia; Dantanna’s Tavern in Sandy Spring, Georgia; Café Tu Tu Tango in Orlando, Florida; Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap at Yates Corner in the Rosemont area of Alexandria, Virginia; and Palette 22 due to open in the Village of Shirlington, Virginia in January 2016.
