Dracula Never Drank Wine, but Mere Mortals Can at The Hay-Adam’s Off the Record

From our friends at the Hay-Adams Hotel...

The Hay-Adams’ legendary bar, Off the Record, has a special treat for guests who have a powerful thirst for liquid refreshment in the spirit of the Halloween season. For a limited time (October 29 through 31) patrons will be able to order Vampire Vineyard’s recent gold medal winning 2013 California Cabernet Sauvignon, a full bodied smooth sipper with blackberry and dark cherry aromas, and just the right amount of oak flavor to lead to a lingering finish. For those who prefer something a bit less blood curdling, Vampire Vineyard’s 2013 California Chardonnay is crisply refreshing with rich creamy flavors of peach, apple and lemon, a smooth round texture and a long flavorful aftertaste. Indulge in these wines for $15 per glass or $55 a bottle before they disappear like a ghost on All Saints Day, November 1st.

For a perfect pairing, mix or match these wickedly good wines with one of Off the Record’s savory temptations such as the Artisanal Cheese Board, with Merry Goat Round, Cabra La Mancha, Appalachian, Bay Blue, Fig Jam, Dried Fruit and Candied Walnuts for $22, or their Charcuterie Board, with Saucisson à l`Ail, Coppa, Rosette de Lyon, Prosciutto di Parma, and Chicken Liver Pate for $24.

Located at 800 16th Street NW, The Hay-Adams’ Off the Record is Washington’s “place to be seen but not heard”. Favored by locals for its creative dinner menu and exceptional wine selection, Off the Record provides a relaxed atmosphere for lunch gatherings, evening dining and entertainment. Open Sunday through Thursday, from 11:30 AM to midnight and on Friday and Saturday, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 AM. For more information, please visit www.hayadams.com.
