Richard Sandoval Restaurants Masa 14, El Centro D.F., & El Centro Georgetown Will Celebrate Halloween

This Halloween, Richard Sandoval’s popular Washington restaurants Masa 14, El Centro D.F. on 14th Street and in Georgetown, will celebrate Halloween on October 29th and 31st with festive food and drink specials, contests and more. Each of the participating restaurants will offer a themed cocktail, the Blood Orange Margarita, tequila blanco, blood orange puree, fresh lime juice, house-made sour mix, agave nectar and black salt rim, garnished with a candy insect, priced at $10.

El Centro D.F., with two locations at 1819 14th Street, NW, 20009 and in Georgetown at 1218 Wisconsin Avenue, NW will get into the Halloween spirit with festive decorations beginning October 12th as well as parties on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st at both locations. The festivities will kick off at 9 PM in Georgetown and 10 PM at 14th Street, and guests can enjoy spooky decorations, classic Mexican cocktails, as well as a costume and social media contest. The two winners of the contest from each restaurant will receive a $75 gift certificate exclusive to that location. Additionally, El Centro will offer its siesta menu at the bar featuring classic Mexican fare. Dishes include Chicken Flautas with morita salsa, bean purée, and crema fresca; El Centro Dog, bacon-wrapped hot dog with Mexican slaw, black bean purée, and habanero mustard; Jalapeño Beef & Chorizo Sliders with Chihuahua cheese, avocado pickled jalapeño, and aji amarillo aioli; Vegetarian Tacos with crispy cheese, mushroom, squash, and grilled scallion, and Nachos with Oaxaca cheese sauce, diced chicken, and pickled jalapeño. Masa 14, located in the bustling 14th street corridor, will also celebrate this ghostly festival with a Mexican Halloween brunch on Saturday, October 31st. Brunch will be served form 10 AM to 3 PM, and guests are encouraged to dress up for a chance to enter in Masa 14's best costume challenge and social media contest. Two winners will be named on Monday, November 2nd; those with the best costume will receive a $75 gift certificate. Additionally, brunch-goers can enjoy Latin-Asian small plates and tapas from Masa 14's popular Bottomless Brunch menu. Priced at $39 per person and $10 per child under 10 (tax and gratuity excluded), guests can enjoy an unlimited selection of brunch drinks full of seasonal flavor such as the Traditional Mimosa, Masa Mimosa, Lychee Bellini, Bloody Mary, Bacon Bloody Mary and Lemon Lager. The menu features a selection of Salads, Eggs and Such, Sandwiches, Sweets and Sides, including Pork Belly Benedict with spicy curry potato cake and chipotle hollandaise; Chilaquiles, corn tortillas, chorizo, queso cotija and soft scrambled eggs; Smoked Chicken Hash with caramelized onions, chilies, chipotle hollandaise, yucca and poached egg; Fruit & House-made Granola with citrus yogurt and blood orange syrup, as well as the Crispy Smoked Brisket Bun with hoisin BBQ, pickled onion, toasted sesame and cilantro. This special brunch offer must be ordered for the entire table.
