A Favorite on the Suburban Maryland Business Scene to Open Second Location in September

The Blueridge Restaurant Group is expanding its upscale casual dining concept, Stanford Grill, with a second location set to open next month at 2000 Tower Oaks Boulevard. The new location will extend the values of Stanford Grill’s inaugural location in Columbia, MD, promising a sophisticated, high-energy dining experience anchored by a fresh, approachable menu.

“We are thrilled to bring our signature restaurant to the business community and neighbors in the Tower Oaks community, and are also delighted to welcome Executive Chef Sean Kinoshita to the team,” said General Manager Patrick Desotelle. Desotelle joins the Blueridge team with a decades long resume that includes general manager roles of noted Washington destinations including Le Diplomate and Zaytinya. Kinoshita, the former executive chef at world renowned Tao Asian Bistro in Las Vegas, brings to Stanford’s new location a commitment to fresh ingredients that he uses across a menu of exceptional American food and skillfully crafted Japanese dishes. Highlights include go-to menu items like wood-fired fish and rotisserie chicken, as well as traditional sushi rolls such as coconut shrimp with spicy masago mayo, crisp cucumber, avocado and pea sprouts. In addition, the new location will feature an open air bakery under the direction of Head Baker Christian Haug. A former pastry chef for Virginia’s popular Swiss Bakery and nearby Praline Bakery, Haug will create all of the restaurant’s savory and sweet breads, sandwich buns, pastries, and more.


The expansive restaurant seats just over 300, across several bright dining rooms flanked by floor to ceiling windows. A private dining room seats 24 comfortably, and is equipped with a modern A/V system appropriate for a range of social functions or business meetings. At the entrance guests are greeted by a large, open bar and lounge space, which will feature an array of red and white wines and nightly live music performed on the restaurant’s impressive grand piano. Two sprawling patios facing east and north, offer an additional 100 seats under the shade of a permanent awning. Year-round outdoor dining will be a unique addition to the neighborhood’s dining options.

Upon opening, the restaurant will offer lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Friday through Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM with Sunday brunch served from 10 AM to 2 PM and dinner until 10 PM.
