September is Turkish Heritage Month at Ankara Restaurant

Ankara Restaurant Celebrates 4th Annual Turkish Heritage Month in September

In honor of September’s recognition as Turkish Heritage Month, Ankara restaurant celebrates Turkey’s rich and diverse culinary heritage with special promotions and offerings throughout the month. Designed to expand guests’ experiences with Turkish culture and cuisine, guests will enjoy specially priced Turkish wines, Turkish Restaurant Week prix-fixe menus and regional delicacies all month long.

“Food and drink is such an integral part of Turkish culture, so Turkish Heritage Month is a wonderful opportunity for us to offer our guests even more ways to engage in the many aspects of Turkish culture, cuisine and hospitality,” said Marketing Director Erin Gorman.

Special promotions include:

• 7th Annual Turkish Restaurant Week September 12-20. Recognized by Washington City Paper as the “Best Culinary Event of 2014,” Turkish Restaurant Week is a week-long celebration of Turkish cuisine. Ankara will offer a special three-course prix-fixe lunch ($18) and four-course prix-fixe dinner ($30). Drinks, tax and tip are not included. Reservations are recommended. Menus are available here. • Half-price Turkish wines September 21-27. A selection of Turkish wines will be offered by the bottle including native grape varietals such as boğazkere, a red grape known for its big tannins; and narince, a white grape known as the “Queen of Anatolia” whose grapevines also produce leaves used for dolmas. International varietals, often blended with native varietals, offered include chardonnay (with narince), sauvignon blanc (with sevilen) and syrah (with kalecik karasi). • Introduction of monthly specials focused on regional delicacies not often found on restaurant menus. More details available upon request.
