Bethany Beach Ocean Suites Debuts 99 Sea Level Restaurant

From our friends at Bethany Beach Ocean Suites...

New Seafood Restaurant Premieres as a Summer Catch

Real Hospitality Group (RHG) is delighted to announce the August opening of Bethany Beach Ocean Suites’ signature restaurant, 99 Sea Level. Named for the destination’s address at 99 Hollywood Street, this pristine oceanfront restaurant will offer full-service upscale dining directly on the boardwalk, a departure from the causal cafes and food stands that populate the strip. Chef Danio Samosa will be collaborating with locally sourced farms and fisheries to craft seasonally inspired American produce, choice meats and seafood.

Boasting a relaxed aura reminiscent of the surrounding seashore, 99 Sea Level features a regular dining room as well as a private dining space that can be reserved for intimate tetes for two or grand celebrations for a larger party.

“As the only full-service restaurant on the Bethany Beach boardwalk, 99 Sea Level brings an engaging dining experience, serving as a drawing point not only for hotel guests but for locals residing around the area as well,” said General Manager, Patrick Staib. "With fresh, local seafood and al fresco dining with a view, Chef Samoa brings forth a unique, authentic flavor of Bethany Beach to the table."

Open for lunch and dinner, the menus at 99 Sea Level were conceptualized and executed by Chef Samosa and feature fresh local seafood, choice meats and creative vegetarian selections. A highlight on the dinner menu is the made-to-order Seafood Tower from the boat-shaped raw bar, which comes in four sizes and includes Blue Point-Chincoteague oysters, Steamed shrimp, Broadwater clams, Steamed PEI mussels and Steamed Alaskan crab club. Starters include the Bristol Sea Scallops with Blue Point oyster mayo, black truffle sundried tomato aioli and golden trout roe; Sea Level Fish Tacos featuring the fresh catch of the day, blackened or fried, with flour tortillas, cilantro jalapeño slaw and crunchy avocado; and the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna with pickled ginger, cucumber jicama, honey-infused soy, honey and sriracha wasabi aioli. For entrees, patrons can choose from dishes such as the Hooper’s Island Blue Crab Cake with Brickyard purple asparagus, wild rice and smoky remoulade; Alaskan Halibut with Scott Farms bok choy, wild shiitake mushrooms, lardo confit and fennel-orange beurre blanc; Seafood Mac & Cheese with shrimp, local lobster rigatoni pasta, blue crab, lobster-béchamel sauce and shaved Gruyere cheese and the Farm Fresh Veggie Pasta with tomatoes, wild exotic mushrooms, olive tapenade, spinach, sweet peas, Parmigiano Reggiano and organic EVOO. For guests with children, the restaurant provides a separate list of choices inspired from grown-up classics; Crispy Fish Fingers, Lobster Mac & Cheese and Fried Gulf Shrimp.

The lunch menu at 99 Sea Level offers similar starters, salads and sides as the dinner menu, but also includes a variety of fresh sandwiches, all served with homemade vegetable chips. Options include the Wild Alaska Sockeye Salmon BLT with apple-wood smoked bacon, spring mix lettuce, tomato and sundried tomato pesto on toasted wheat bread; Whiskey Kobe Burger with caramelized whiskey onions, blue cheese, sunny side up egg, brioche bun and shoestring fries; the Bristol Sea Scallop Cheesesteak with caramelized peppers, onions and chipotle mayo on a potato roll; and the Grilled Cheese Prosciutto with 60-days aged gouda-goat cheese blend, crunchy green tomatoes and basil aioli on Ciabatta bread.

A standout feature of the restaurant is the boat-shaped bar with a built-in raw bar, where a lively happy hour will take place each day. The bar’s menu will include an extensive cocktail menu featuring fresh, house-made ingredients, syrups and a range of premium liquors. Cocktails include both timeless classics and signature drinks such as the 99 Mermaid Water with coconut rum, Captain Morgan rum, blue curaco, orange simple syrup and pineapple; The 99 with Barr Hill gin, chopped jalapeño, cucumber, cilantro, ginger, house-made sweet and sour, lime simple syrup with a mint spring; and the Watermelon Blueberry Cooler with Belvedere wild berry vodka, watermelon, muddled blueberries, mint simple syrup and soda. The bar will also serve a variety of local and international beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages. In the dining room and at the bar, dessert wines will be served in chocolate-dipped stemware.

“We are excited to bring a stylish and lively bar with an engaging dining experience to Bethany Beach,” said Staib. “Offering an endless array of options with our lunch, dinner, happy hour and even a late night menu, 99 Sea Level is a perfect spot that caters to all visitors, be it couples, businesspeople or families.”
