Safeway National Capital Barbecue Battle 2015 - Day 1 Photo Recap

Big smiles & full-size samples at Chobani

Last year, it looked like rain. This year, there was no stopping Mother Nature; but to its credit, the 23rd annual Safeway National Capital Barbecue Battle carried on without a hitch. That meant the usual myriad of delicious barbecue, freebies and music... enjoyed by thousands (armed with umbrellas.) The rain continued to fall, before relinquishing for good around 5 o'clock... just in time for an evening full of music with Sugar Bear & EU, among others. Lucky for us (and more importantly you) there's another day of food & activities set for tomorrow (11 AM - 7:30 PM) with a weather forecast so good, you might want to thank the aforementioned Mother Nature in advance.

Just in case you weren't able to brave the elements today, here's a look back at some of the fun...
