Marriott Marquis Washington, DC Announces New Bourbon Program, Spotlighting The Dignitary Bourbon Bar

Marriott Marquis Washington, DC launches a multifaceted whiskey program and Marquis signature cocktail creation competition

Marriott Marquis Washington, DC, the largest hotel in the nation’s capital, which opened in May 2014, launches several Bourbon programs in response to the buzz surrounding the hotel’s popular bourbon bar, The Dignitary. Starting March 1, Marriott Marquis kicks off a competition to create a signature Marquis Bourbon Cocktail, as well as ongoing drink specials, and trivia nights with expert bar chefs Pete, Tom, and Rosen who have more than 50 years combined bartending and whiskey expertise.

With the largest whiskey selection of any hotel bar in Washington, DC, The Dignitary has a speakeasy feel, rich with dark woods, a red brick bar, leather club chairs, a simmering fireplace, and tin ceiling tiles. Barside, talented mixologists serve up a robust lineup of high-end bourbons. Whiskey rarities include Jefferson Presidential 25 and the trio of whiskey from Orphan Barrel. Mixologists Pete, Tom, and Rosen have created an all-American drink list based off of president's favorites as well as a sophisticated small plates menu from Marriott Marquis Executive Chef Matthew Morrison. The Dignitary is located within the hotel’s original historic Samuel Gompers AFL-CIO headquarters building, and features an outdoor patio, seating up to 40 on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and 9th Street.
